About Statue of Unity

Statue of Unity is a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, built on the banks of River Narmada, overlooking Sardar Sarovar Dam in Gujarat. The Statue of Unity is the world's tallest statue, with a height of 182 meters (597 feet), located in the state of Gujarat, India. It depicts Indian statesman and independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950), who was the first deputy prime minister and home minister of independent India and an adherent of Mahatma Gandhi. Patel was highly respected for his leadership in uniting 562 princely states of India to form the single Union of India. This spectacular and astounding colossal structure was inaugurated by our honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on October 31, 2018, on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 143rd birth anniversary.

Best Attract near the Statue of Unity

The Statue of Unity is a scenic spot near Sardar Sarovar Dam with more than 50 lakh visitors. It overwhelms tourists of all kinds. There are some interesting places near this gigantic statue, which one should not miss during their visit to the statue. Here is a list.

Jungle Safari

The Jungle Safari is 558,240 square meters in size and is located on the right bank of the Narmada River, about 2 kilometers from the SOU. The park will be home to over 400 different species of fauna from Africa, Australia, Asia, and America. Visitors will also be able to see some of India’s endangered species, such as the magnificent Asiatic lion, Royal Bengal Tiger, and Leopard. The safari route has been designed so that visitors can observe animal activities, sea reptiles, and observe birds.

Pets Zone

Cuddling your favorite animals allows you to touch, feel, photograph, and enjoy the experience. It is home to a variety of exotic animal species such as Macaws, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Miniature Ponies, Tukeys, and Geese, among others. The petting zone has been beautifully landscaped to enhance the visitors’ experience.

Sardar Sarovar Dam

Sardar Sarovar Dam is one of the world’s largest concrete gravity dams, measuring 1.2 kilometers in length and 163 meters in height at its deepest foundation level.

Butterfly Garden

The Butterfly Garden at Valley of Flowers, located between the Vindhyas and Satpura ranges on the Narmada River’s banks, is an appealing location to appreciate the variety of these flying jewels. More than 80 different species of butterflies can be found in the garden. The garden will be 6 acres in size, with 150 plant species and 38 butterfly species. More than 150 species of larval host plants and nectar plants are found in the park, attracting a wide range of butterfly species. The park’s landscaping has been designed specifically to support the diversity of butterfly species.

SOU Viewing Gallery

Located 500 feet above ground within the Statue, the Viewing Gallery offers a panoramic view of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, its 256 km long reservoir, with the beautiful Vindhya and Satpura mountain ranges on both sides.

Vishwa Van

The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, envisioned the integrated development of Ekta Nagar on the theme of Unity in Biodiversity after guiding the construction of the Statue of Unity in 46 months. Vishwa Van (a Global Forest) is home to plants, shrubs, and trees native to all seven continents, representing the underlying theme of Unity in Diversity in a global context. In the context of all life forms on the planet, Vishwa Van represents the life-sustaining potion of forests. Vishwa Van is a 2-hectare park located between two bridges near the Statue of Unity.

Cactus Garden

The Cactus Garden is a one-of-a-kind botanical garden at the Statue of Unity site that was designed to showcase a wide range of Cacti, the true miracles of adaptation. The idea behind the creation of the cactus garden is to provide an experience of the desert ecosystem amid a landmass surrounded by water. 30000 plants of 350 species are spread across 20 acres of land. A grand architectural greenhouse that serves as an ecological habitat for nearly 400 national and international cacti and succulent plant species. These cacti and succulent species are native to 17 countries around the world, primarily in North and South America and Africa.

Ekta Nursery

Ekta Nursery is a tourist attraction that was created to raise awareness about environmentally friendly practices. This nursery serves a dual purpose of educating and demonstrating to tourists while also employing locals. Ekta Nursery focuses on traditional eco-friendly products with a live demonstration of their manufacturing/production process, such as Bamboo, Areca Leaf Plates, Organic pots, Bonsai, Ceramic Pots, Tribal Life, Kadaknath, Apiculture, Tribal Tea, and so on. A Bonsai training and display area has been created to introduce visitors to the fascinating art of creating miniatures of forest giants.

Children Nutrition Park

It is the world’s first technologically driven theme park, envisioned and conceptualized by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, to inspire children to eat healthily and understand the role of nutrition in their mental and physical development. Children's Nutrition Park has extensively used technology for gaming and learning. It has a Toy Train (Nutri Express) that runs through five stations, a gaming zone, and a tunnel, entertaining children while focusing on the nutrition theme. The Hon’ble Prime Minister’s message to children is to eat healthy and nutritious foods to become “The Iron Man of India.”

Arogya Van

The Arogya van covers approximately 17 acres and displays a diverse range of medicinal plants and health-related landscapes.

River Rafting

River rafting is without a doubt one of the most exciting and physically demanding adventure sports on the planet. Narmada, the country’s largest west-flowing river and a lifeline for millions, has now ushered in a thrilling experience for adventure seekers, who can now enjoy river rafting in a 5-kilometer stretch with whirlpools, rapids, and many turns, providing an exciting and unforgettable rafting experience for the first time in Gujarat.

Glow Garden

The Unity Glow Garden exudes a festive glow. The theme park features glimmering installations, gleaming figures, and optical illusions. The LED fountain shines a light on the future of night tourism. The garden is already a popular tourist attraction. Tourists from all over the world are delighted by the never-ending entertainment. There has been an increase in the number of tourists who want to see the beauty of Kevadiya at night.

Ekta Cruise

A river cruise is a unique way to see the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue. A passenger boat provides a spectacular view of the statue and transports you to the Statue of Unity.

Shoolpaneshwar Mandir

The devotee can perform Dhwajarohan at Shoolpaneshwar Mahadev Shiv Temple according to his religious beliefs and rituals. Pujari Shree will perform Dhwaja puja, which will be hoisted on the temple’s Shikhar by Sevak in the presence of the devotee.

Narmada Maha Aarti

A person can reserve this here to become the Yajman of 1 (one) Maha Aarti. The person’s Sankalp will be performed before the Aarti, and they should be seated behind the Pujari performing the Aarti. The yajman will also be given prasadam.

Ekta Nagar Bus Route

This Circular Route will take you on a tour of various attractions in and around Ekta Nagar. This circular route stops at 17 different bus stops for sightseeing.

Zarvani Eco-Tourism

Zarvani, located in the Satpuda mountain range, is a popular destination for Gujarati tourists and nature lovers. It blooms to its full splendor during the monsoon season when the waterfall attracts a large number of tourists. Zarvani village is located in Narmada District, near the Narmada dam, and is part of the Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, which has been designated as an Eco-tourism site. For thrill-seekers, there is an Adventure Park near the falls with activities such as a climbing wall, a rappelling wall, a two-way zip line, and a free jump device.

Khalwani Cycling (Electric)

Kesuda Tour

Thanks to our Hon PM Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, a splash of bright orange flowers enhances the scenic views of Ekta Nagar. Ekta Nagar has nurtured thousands of Kesuda trees, also known as the ‘Flame of the Forest,’ under his capable guidance. The bewitching beauty of its bright orange flowers during the Spring is a captivating sight, whether you call it Kesuda, Palash, Khakaro, or Kishuka (in Sanskrit). Through the ‘Kesuda Tour’ at Ekta Nagar, tourists can now enjoy and revel in the beauty of Kesuda. Visitors to Ekta Nagar can take the Kesuda Tour, which includes a bus ride, trekking, and a cup of delectable Kesuda tea.

Poicha Temple

Its huge, majestic, and magnificent temple of Lord Shree Swaminarayan is situated on the banks of river Narmada. We visited the Nilkanth Dham Swaminarayan Temple while going to Bharuch from Netrang. We also visited Lakulish Shiv Temple, and Kayavarohan before this temple visit. The whole temple is made of pink stones and is a masterpiece of art. So many colorful sculptures are carved out in a well-planned manner all around.

Kuber Bhandari

Kuber Bhandari Temple, Chandod Information The temple is located at a distance of 60 km from the Vadodara. The temple is said to be very ancient and built around 2500 years ago. Kuber Bhandari temple is 800 feet above the coast of river Narmada. There are around 680 steps to get to the temple from the river Narmada.
